The southern Ionian around Lefkada is famously gentle: reliable afternoon breezes, short hops between islands, calm night anchorages and a taverna in every bay. Meganisi, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Kalamos and Kastos are all within an easy day's sail. It is the classic first-charter cruising ground.
