Sardinia is the jewel of the western Mediterranean — turquoise water over white sand that could pass for the Caribbean, dramatic granite islands and some of the most beautiful anchorages anywhere. The Costa Smeralda in the north, around Cannigione, Portisco and Olbia, is the classic charter base and the gateway to the Maddalena archipelago.

Getting there: fly into Olbia Costa Smeralda (OLB), 30–45 minutes by taxi; Cagliari (CAG) serves the south. We'll confirm transfer options and your check-in time when we book.

Where you'll sail from Sardinia

From the Costa Smeralda you sail straight into the La Maddalena archipelago — a national park of pink-granite islands, Spargi, Budelli's famous pink beach and Caprera — then on towards the Strait of Bonifacio and the cliffs of southern Corsica. It is short-hop, high-scenery cruising in protected, island-studded waters.
